GENEALOGY
In the early 1970's after my dad retired, my parents got really interested in genealogy. They put quite a bit of effort and time into it and had a great deal of fun. I recall thinking that it was all really nice for them. I found some of their findings mildly interesting, but didn't get too excited about it. No doubt, they didn't tell me as much about this hobby as they would have if I had appeared to be more interested.
Much of what they told me went in one ear and out the other, but I did remember a few tantalizing tidbits. One was that both sides of the families had at least one direct chain leading to the first Mayflower settlers who landed here in 1620.
I have occasionally put together what I could of our family tree and now and then find a cache of info. My purpose in this page is to document what I have found that can be relied upon as accurate. I was pleased to find late last night, October 22, 2009 that there was indeed a very reliable and well documented trail leading my family to John Alden through my father's side. I haven't had much success through my mother's side though and am sure there is much I don't know.
Here are my links to what I have confirmed:
